i thought i seen a part number for the corvet servo upgrade at one time, now i cant seem to find the post that had it. can anybody tell me the part number to this servo and is this something i can get from my local chevy dealer or is it not a dealer part and i need to get else where. also i have seen something about a 4th gear servo upgrade is this a worth the money to performance upgrade or only need with high horse power?

If I remember correctly there was a thread a while back about the Corvette Servo's or chips, I looked but no luck.. Try giving Slowprocess a PM, He is very wise when it comes to Modding Engines and Transmissions.

I have the part number somewhere for the servo at a dealership, but I think its a good bit more expensive. You can get one from a number of tranny places on the net. The first time I bought one was for my stock tranny. I got it from ebay for really cheap and it was exactly what I needed. When I sent the core tranny in for my built one, it came with a transgo kit and vette servo already installed. Here's an ebay link to what I had the first time.

I think you'll be pretty safe with just this for the time being. If you plan on going really crazy with the truck, you can go ahead and start saving up some cash for a full performance build. High horsepower will eat a stock 4l60e. Medium horsepower(250-350rwhp) can usually last a long time with a vette servo and transgo kit. 350-400rwhp up needs to have some upgraded clutch packs, internals. 400rwhp up needs to have pretty extensive work done or upgrade to a 4l65e or 4l80e.

If you don't have one stock, these trannies absolutely need an external tranny cooler of some sort. Really cheap/easy to install mod that will save a 4l60e. I really like my permacool cooler.

Got the parts here, but I haven't put it together because my nitrous kit is coming in next week, and I'm going to wait until it gets here to do all of my plumbing. I'll post up what all I've got coming in another thread.

I picked up my servo on ebay for $15.99 shipped. I wasn't going to do the mod until i found out how cheap they were. Wasn't very difficult to install either. Hardest part was getting the snap rings in and out. It shifts a good bit firmer. Occasionally I'll grab a little rubber on the 2nd gear shift with the 255/85 mud brutes i have on my truck. For 16 bucks and about 30-45 mins it's definately worth it.

So now that guy on eBay that Slowprocess bought from is selling a kit with a longer shaft to take up the 1/8" slack in the cover.

What the F_ _ _ is he talking about? Anyone else done that shaft also or is it a rip off? Slowprocess what are your comments?

Thanks, Jethro_3
