Rear Brake Lines...

Recently I Had To Replace 2 Sections Of Rear Brake Line To My 94 Cavalier Due To Rust. The Sections Had Broken Underneath The Drivers Side Door So I Used Double Flanged Fitiings To Hook Up The New Sections To The Old... ( I Know It Would Have Been Better To Replace All The Brake Lines As This Can Be A Safety Issue, But Working Outside In 20 Degree Weather Laying In A Foot Of Snow, Well You Get The Picture. ) My Question Of Concern. If I Reversed The Lines At The Fittings Would That Be A Problem? I Tend To Get Super Paranoid About Things Such As Brakes As There Are To Many Horror Stories About Brake Failures... Killing Myself Is One Thing,,, Killing Someone Else Is Another Matter. If Anyone Can Help It Would Be Much Appreciated... Thanks...

Double flanged you say, even if your fittings are on backwards, as long as they don't not leak your all set. Just if you end up replacing the line again, make sure you turn the nut the right way because it would be backwards if its what i am thinking. All of us get paranoid about things too man so don't worry about it. If somthing happens you always have your ebrake if needed. You should see me when people walk around my car, i start to flip out and stare to make sure they don't even touch it or there ass would get a beat down. Some of my friends say i have OCD over my car. LMAO

Its Funny You Say Ocd. Yes I Definitely Have Ocd And It Shows When It Comes To My Car. All My Friends Say! Tom! The Car Is 10 Years Old! What Do You Expect! Think About Someone In The Middle Of Winter In The Snow Working Under A Car. I Must Look Like A Reatart! Lol. Anyway I Meant About The Brake Lines If I Feversed Left Rear Line To The Back To Right Rear To The Front, Not A Reverse In How The Fittings Were Put On. Thanks.

Don't reverse the lines like that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You have a proportioning valve, that allows at least one side of the brakes to work in emergency if one side fails.

Doing what you describe could leave you with just one, not two brakes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! [if one side fails, as I understand, you could lose complete brakes by crossing the lines like that. I may be wrong here, but would ya rather I be right and you without any brakes???]

In any case, NADA with reversing lines to another wheel than their intended route.
