Economey ranges on what size engine you get. 3.0, 4.4, 4.6, 4.8. It ranges from 18-30 city and 20-35 hwy or something around that.
The ride is a tad rough but its sturdy and cruzes alone 8-mph nicely. If you want a word to explain the ride, it would be tight.
3.0 isnt that hot on accel.
4.4 gets better
4.6 is where it starts getting serious
4.8 your be amazed a SAV could move out that fast.
Service is like eveyone would say owning a BMW. Expect to fork out around 1k$ for 4 wheel brake job.
400 for tune up and 800-1000 for 60k tune up.
They arnt bad cars, but compaired to a 5 series its lame. If you compair it to your explorer is much better. If I was you and wanted some extra get up get the 4.6. If your just wana go fast sometimes get the 4.4.

Go for the X5. Even at 225 HP in the 3.0 - it will shock you after driving an Explorer. I get 19 MPG on winding back roads - the best kind for this truck.
