Hey wasup, first time poster, i just got a 2000 Intrigue GLS about 2 weeks ago and I LOVE it!! got it with just under 23000 miles, for 10,200 out the door, great deal!!! anyways, i am going to replace the stock head unit with a better aftermarket one, i had a few questions for anyone who has the know how. First how do i take the old radio out, what must I do to get the dash peice that is surrounding it removed. and Also, when i get it out, how to I get to the accesory wire that lets the radio stay on after the car is turned off until a door is opened? Thanks in advance!!

To get the dash peice off just use a screw driver and pop it off..There's like 8 differant connections around it, so be careful not to break any of them when prying it off. I'm not really sure what your talking about with the accessory wire...When I put my CD Player in about a month ago I just bought a Wire harness and plugged it in.

Thanks alot!, the wire i am talking about inables the radio to stay on while the car is off, until 15 minutes elapse or you open a door. I did get the wire harness, but the guy at best buy said that you had to run another wire (came with the wire harness, but is a seperate peice) to the ignition to enable this feature, it isn't a necessary feature, just one i would like to keep if possible.

To get the dash apart, you need to open the armrest console and remove the two screws you see in the front on top. Then carefully pull up on the center console. There's 4-6 clips that need to come out. When you have that removed, then you can pull out the bezel surrounding the radio and climate controls. There's something like 6 clips in that part.
Make sure that all of the clips are still on the parts you removed. If they remain stuck in the console, then you have to dig them out with pliers. The plastic parts won't fit back on properly and will rattle if you don't get all of the clips back on before snapping everything in place.
Also, when putting the center console back on, make sure the plastic pins at the front of it line up into the holes in the radio/climate control bezel. You'll see what I mean.

Taking it out is extremely easy, and it works just as Joe stated. If you need pictures, I found this website helpful when swapping out my CD player.
