Ok, I just got a RRE upper intercooler pipe and 1g BOV off dsmtrader. But the bov is STUCK on there. It's got RTV or some other stuff holding it on. Should I try squirting it with some white lithuim greese (dont have any liquid wrench)? Or should I just stick a flathead in between and hit it with a hammer? I though this might f it up so I haven't so far. I need to get it off there though so I can clean the pipe with rubbing alcohol. Oh, and should I get another gasket and use more rtv when I put it back on?
Btw, I bought it from Automagic. He's a good seller for anyone that's interested in buying from him.

white litium grease wont help at all. i would just clean the pipe with the bov still on. if you really need to get it off stick a screwdriver under the edge of it a try to wiggle it around. dont hammer on it thats just begging to break something. im assuming that you took the bolts out.

Yeah, I took the bolts out. I was thinking about polishing the bov too so I just kind of wanted to get it off. What if the rubbing alcohol gets in the bov when I'm cleaning the pipe. Would that hurt it? I guess I could just stuff some paper up the flange or something.

Rubbing alcohol evaporates really fast--don't worry about it.
If it ain't broke, don't fix it. If you don't have a boost leak there, don't give it a chance to form!

Ok, well I left it on there like you guys said to and just polished the bov around it. Im gonna try to install it tommorow along with the boost gauge I just got. I just have a couple questions on the uicp and gauge though. First, can I do the uicp install without taking off the wheel? Also, Is the steering column boot really the best place to run the vac line? And how do I get the line up to the a pillar? Thanks for the help.

The way I did it is the same way electricians run wire....use your imagination... something ridgid pushed carefully from the bottom of the A pillar down below. Best to have a friend push it down while you are underneath to guide it...then you can tape wires to end and pull them through... same for vac/boost tube going up to guage... remember to plan out what you are going to do, then do it.... plan plan plan= success
Oh yeah.... as for the vac/boost tube... I drilled hole through the firewall VERY CAREFULLY.. worked like a charm and I didn't have to worry about the hose being smushed by wiring harnesses and such...

Where exactly did you drill the hole and from which side? Can I get the vac hose and wires through without taking the a pillar off? I havent bought a pod yet so the gauge is just going to sit in front of it. Anyone know about the tire?

when i installed my ic piping, i took the wheel off. i would recomend you take off the wheel too. it will make your installation easier and faster. you could still install your ic piping with the wheel on but you better hope you have smalls hands and a small srewdriver to work with. the area of work with the wheel on is limited. good luck with your installation.

I drilled the hole through the firewall where there wasn't anything on the engine bay side.... just use something like the steering column as a reference from both sides of the firewall. I drilled a hole just big enough for the vac/boost tube to fit nicely... drilled from inside the car...kinda sucks ..there is the mat on the firewall inside.... I cut a opening... otherwise the fibers wind up on the drillbit.. you only need to feed the tube through... the wires splice into ground and power from inside the car...
As for the A-pillar.... GET ONE!!! at the base of the pillar there is a gap on the side of the dash and pillar... thats where you run the tube and wires.... the gap is about an 1/8 inch....
I agree with 99eclipsegst on taking the wheel off for the UICP or at least turn your wheel to the left all the way to make some room....just take the wheel off....
