Brake Problem

Hey all. How's it going?

Let me begin. A couple months back I got my rotors machined, but didn't get new pads. As time went on, the brakes started clicking when I hit the brakes. They got worse over the past couple months. It only clicks when I brake. The sound does come from the front, I believe the drivers side wheel. I started experimenting yesterday: When I hit the brakes softly, like slowly rolling up to a stop sign the clicking is loud and very frequent... "click click click click...". When I hit the brakes hard, its less. The clicking is almost gone, and not as frequent, "click... ... ...click"
Hard to explain in words. Got to be there I guess. What can the problem be? I had my mechanic check it out, and he said the rotors, pads, capilers, everything was fine. They cant find a problem. Brake fluid is also full. Brakes are stock. Any help? Thanks
