I'm not really sure where I want this thread to go to. I just thought we'd discuss a little bit about it as a whole. If you don't know what it is, or what I'm talking about just asked whatever you'd like. But of course NO FLAMING.
Personally, I've been listening to Swisha House (now called Swisha Blast), since about '99/2000, just about the time that 'our rap style' was starting to gain a lot more attention. Far more than when the Getto Boys and UGK went mainstream.
I got brought in when my friend had me listen to a cd with Chamillion and Paul Wall. I still think that even though Chamillion is kind of getting fucked out of money and shit supposedly. I think he's probably gonna end up getting sort of big. I think he's the best lyricist in the south. Yes all of the South. I don't know why, his rhymes always just flow so nicely and aren't cheesey at all.

mike jones, mike jones, mike jones who? mike jones mike jones mike jones! hehe...
I like those dudes, but I dunno. I can't see all the pop lovers conforming to swisha house. Too many people only want hype. I know how hard it is to make records the way they do, so I know they have talent, but its hard for me to see them going ten times platinum like everybody else now days. I'd like to see them get big, but I cant imagine them being the new sensation. Hopefully Im wrong.

I agree. too bad arkansas can't have anybody big. Well I mean we did but nobody apreciated him. I like texas for forming their on style. Not like here in arkansas. We can't make up our minds on what we want. We want to be street like newyork, gangsta like the west, screwed like teaxs, buck like memphis, crunk like atl, ghetto like the south, and all in all were just to generic right now. nothing really stands out.

Never heard anyone put it like that. Pretty cool man. That's one thing about rap is that there are more diverse sounds and for the MOST part everyone gets a long or at least keep things completely lyric based.
I didnt necessarily mean get big as in pop status. I honestly don't want that kind of rep for Texas. I prefer to stay underground big. I mean Slim Thug is probably the closest to get really big considering he's with The Neptunes and they knocked beats out for his Already Platinum album due out in March. But then we have Paul Wall who makes the grilles for everyone, from athletes to rappers. So he's got status, just hasn't really been called upon to perform on tracks. But he's bound to soon.

For those who care Mike Jones, Slim Thug and Paul Wall are going to be on 106 & Park next Wednesday March 23rd to perform. It's gonna be sweet. I hope they put on a good show.
