Frustrating

I have a 1988 dodge diplomat and everytime i drive it when the motor is not warmed up, it lugs and sometimes stalls. After about 20 miles of driving (or when the motor gets fully warmed up) it stops acting up. Any suggestions? This is really frustrating. I would appreciate your help.
