94runner Keyless Entry Remotes?

Does anyone know of a cheaper alternative to buying a factory remote from $40 from the dealership??? Is there a $20 knock off that'll do the job?
Additionally, does anyone have this problem with their 1-button APSBT model alarm? If so, what to do, what to do?
Problem:
My alarm is haunted, possessed, crazy or just plain mad. I'll turn it on and it won't work. If I turn it off, it'll go off in the middle of the night. I've gone to the dealership and had it reprogrammed, reset, the sensitivity turned all the way down, up, etc. No matter what I do, it is completely erratic. I am trying to determine whether to 1) buy a new keyless entry system or 2) fix the old one??? Electrical diagnostics are very expensive.
As always, thanx for your time.

It will probably be cheaper to replace the system than troubleshoot it, unless you know alarms and have alot of time.
