I've got a 95 Taurus, 3.0L sedan w/ 91K miles. Twice in the past month in a half/two months I've briefly had trouble with what I think is the transmission. Coming out of a stop light (after driving it for about 15 minutes) when I got it up to about 25 mph, the engine just revved up and I couldn't get any power out of it. Both times I pulled over, waited a few seconds, and it was fine. In between the two occurances I've had the transmission fluid flushed.
I ran the scanner on the car and it came up with code 636, Transmission Oil Temperature (TOT) sensor out of range. No other codes were present. I called the dealership and they said there isn't a TOT sensor on the car. I can't find any information on it, and don't really trust the transmission place to give me an honest answer. I can't find any info on it elsewhere.
Has anyone heard of this?
Thanks in advance for any help
