is it realistically possible to build a custom lambo door kit yourself? i dont want to spend $1000 for just two hinges.

In a word, no. Unless you are a CAD wizard, have $50,000 to R&D your own, its just better to hand over the money.

:iagree: If you try and do it yourself it will probably end up being way more than $1,000. plus you don't just get hinges you get hydrolics too.

actually you can fab your on lambo doors, there are internet sites where they sell manuals to help fab you own doors. i have been looking into this for about 2 weeks now. you can do if you have the right tools. i'm about to try to fab some with some myself

what tools do you need? when i was thinking of it, all i thought of doing was using some high quality door hinges and putting them right, or even building my own hinges out of steel. you can do anything with a litte ingenuity. what are some of those sites?

www.lambodoors.com there is a nice site to study from if you really want to do it on your own. It is a bolt on kit for lambo doors for $50. They will eventually fall off because bolt ons most of the time don't hold very well because it just sits there without having it welded onto the car itself. I would really just take $1,000 and hand it over so a pro can do it and so you don't accidentally mess somethin up and your doors come flying off on the highway.

:wtf: Anyway.
I can see where you are coming from it is just that it takes time and testing to get it right.check out www.lambodoors.com it takes your hinges now and makes them into lambo style doors. I don't know what it comes with or if they actually work well but if you have $50 to spare then I would take a crack at it. In the end your going to probably have more than $1,000 into just testing it out and seeing if they work well. The real question you have to ask yourself is, "Do I really have the talent and time to test things out and can these hinges hold on for a long time?" If you answered yes to both of those then go for it and see if it works. Have a weekend to go nowhere and have the tools? Then you can test it out but if your not a good welder or don't even know how lambo doors work like the back of your hand your going to have some trouble.

If you acutally do this on your own I want to see pictures of this. I love lambo style doors. Gives that exotic look to a car. I thought about doing it to my Sunfire but I figured out my door are extremly heavy and they wouldn't last that is why this summer I am converting them to sucide doors.
