What is the going price on a 70 Firebird with a 455 in it. Body and interior are in great shape. What should someone reasonably expect to pay for such a car? THANKS

Which model Firebird? Is it an original 455 car? These things matter as to value.

This is not an original 455 engine in this particular Firebird!

Formula has two large scoops, out toward the front of the hood. Many '70 models had Ram Air (open scoops, and an air cleaner that sealed around the hood). The hood is also fiberglass. There may or may not be a spoiler on the deck, but none of the TransAm wheel farings or front air dam would be there, nor the extractor vents on the fenders.
If it's a plain Firebird, the book value isn't anything special. Same as a Camaro plain-jane, MAYBE a bit higher (a bit on the rare side). Formula will command a higher price (like an RS or SS Camaro). '70 TransAm is worth a BUNCH. Like the '70 Z/28. ALL '70s (T/A) were Ram Air, and some had Ram Air IV. None were 455s. All '71 and '72 T/As were 455 HO. Some '73s had 455s (including a very few 455 SD), but most were 400s. Same is true of '74. All were 400s in '75, and a small number of '76s had 455. FWIW
