2003 Avalon AC Filter

Where can I find directions on how to replace the passenger AC filter? It's very expensive to have the dealer do it. Thanks.

You gain access to the blower and filter from behind the glove box. First, you have to remove the glove box: pry off the finish plate inside the glove box, then disconnect the airbag harness. There are then five screws holding the box in--just remove them.

Then you just remove the filter cover, and swap out the filter. Install is the reverse.

Caveat: this is for a 2001, but I think it will probably be very similar for yours.

Thanks very much for the information. I saw this earlier, but am not sure that it's the same as the 2003. The glove box looks different.

I may just have to bite the bullet and pay the dealer $100 to change it. The only thing I'm conerned about is the air bag.
