heads up display

hello! does anybody know how to install a heads up display? i just bought one for my grand prix se and i really need some help .i dont know where it has to be connected.thank you

You may want to make sure that you have the two wiring harness plugs that go to the hud.

Get ready to cut a big hole in the dash.

I Just got a '00 GT has the HUD, but does not work, i already check all the fuses according to the owner manual, but still does not work, does anyone has any idea on what to try, and just in case i need to replace it, are they expensive?

This is the way to do it. These parts have to come from a "bone yard". Who else would leave a big hole in their dash.

Wait a min. I know a couple of guys that would.

I also forgot to let you know that to see the HUD good, you will need a special coated windshield,that comes in the 97/03 Grandprix's with HUD's.

Good idea but it would'nt help me. $500 deductible. Plus, would'nt the insurance want to pay for a replacement and not an upgraded windshield?

In the state of Florida, I don't know where you live. In Florida, the insurance company must replace your windshield, free of charge. No matter what. They have to Pay cost. You tell dealer, to replace with $500.00 glass,as long as you have installed HUD already, they replace. And send bill to insurance company. They can't raise your insurance.
Two years ago, on my 1997 GT, I wanted to have windows tinted. Had dealer do it when they had car, They also tinted windshield, free off cost.
Check the law where you live. Good luck.

I didnt know that. The last time I had a windshield replaced was maybe 20 years ago and I paid a deductible back then--maybe $100. Which to me was still a good deal. I guess when my GP windshield gets scarred up enough from flying road rash I may have to "have an accident with it". :evillol: I'm in Las Vegas by the way.

Sorry,but that flite is only going to Vegas.

I lost $260 last weekend at the Orleans. Lost $100 at Tuscany. Then another $200 at Sperment Rhino. (strip club) :evillol: Didnt mind that last one to much.
