This summer when I trade my truck off for a car, hopefully a 300M, I want to probably go with two 12" Brahma's. Now I orignally thought of just sticking two Kicker 1200.1's on each sub. But I'd like you guy's opinions, I searched a little bit and heard you guys talking about some other brand amps that i'm not particularly familiar with. Kicker's new 2500.1 crossed my mind too, as well as some Memphis Mojo's as a few kids that have Solo X's around here use them.

hah well im sure the general concensus will be that 2400-2600 wrms per sub will be WAY too much..

not good with amp recommendations.. just wait a few minutes im sure people will help you out.. but you wont need that much power.. im sure 1100-1500 watts per sub will be plenty though

dont forget that the more power you throw into the mix the more youre gonna have to upgrade your elec. system.

Well, i'd say power/amp choice would be enclosure and goal dependant! The Brahma IN NO WAY needs 1600rms to perform to full potential.

So, what is your goal? SQ, SPL, mix of both (if so, which side do you lean on?)

If you want to shell out the money, the Kicker 2500.1 would be a great choice...but it's MASSSSSSS money. Also, when you're talking of this type of power, keep in mind electrical upgrades. HO Alternator, Big 3 upgrade, new battery!

My recommendation is anything that does 1600-2400 rms @2ohms if you'd like one amp. OR two amps that do 800-1200 rms @1 or 4ohms.

The big thing is...what is your budget...
once i know that...i'll have some more specific suggestions for ya!

Andon I meant only getting one 2500.1, i'm not looking to put more than 1200 watts to one sub alone.

I'm only going for SQ, which brings up the question, it's alright to put the Brahma in a sealed enclosure right? I dont give a rats ass for SPL really as I dont compete or anything. Budget, we'll say around $1500 for amps, no more than that though. I think the 2500.1 was 1500 itself so if that's truly a good amp then that might be it but I'm still open to suggestions.

Chances are that I'll get a higher rated alternater and an Optima battery, maybe two batteries but I'm not going to be cruising around with it cranked, but it's always fun just to throw it at em sometimes. The big three sounds like more than what i would want to do anyways.

Big three is easy, and it'll show a noticeable improvement!
All you have to do is add three 1/0 awg wires:
Alternator to Battery +
Battery - (neg) to chassis ground
Battery - (neg) to engine block ground

I'd look into a Tru Technologies SH-1, Zapco C2k 9.0, and actually the Incriminator Audio 10.1's will be out by the time you're looking at installing! That'd be my first choice, TWO IA 10.1's...

Well, personally I like Directed Audio's line. Their new SX line looks sweet and works well inside a very small enclosure. If you really want to get the bass to smack your head, look into the Orion line. Personally the Directed Audio should be plenty. People around here are amazed on how they perform. Remember that no matter what you get, the install is the key. Stay away from pre-fab boxes. You need to build the enclosure for your tastes, the vehicle's setup, and the subs requirements.

You guys are hilarious.... Rockford Fosgate has you ALL BEAT!!! :cwm27:

NOT. I'm suprised none of you are suggesting other subs than the Brahma's. I was under the impression that they weren't the best choice for pure SQ or even SQL. For the amount of money he's got in his budget, I've heard you guys come up with much better sounding combos.

It's the people that don't realize that OR ignorant people that think ONE thing is the best for every situation (and that one thing is what they own) that I'm DEFINITELY not patient with :)

It was actually our dream systems to have in our cars, well, which pretty much is SQ systems considering the Brahma, XXX n others were made for OUTSTANDING Sound Quality, They just so happen to be some of there Loudest subs also.

If this is in reference to me, I've got over $30k in audio equipment on the shelf at any given moment WITH OUT counting the $10k of Directed Audio I carry.
