No longer get the warning bell

Here goes my first post - I hope you guys can help me with this one. A while back the little bell that goes off when you leave the lights on or the key in the ignition, stopped ringing. After running my battery down a couple of times because I left the lights on, I figured I better do something about it. Any ideas? Fuse? Ignition? I have the shop manual for my 01 civic DX but nothing in there jumps out at me. Thanks

my first guess would be a fuse, other than that maybe the buzzer got damaged or something along those lines for one reason or another, I have no clue where the buzzer is so I dont know how it would get damaged, but id check to see if there is a seperate fuse for the buzzer and work from there.

Does the dome lites or the door ajar lite on the dash. Reason being is the chime works off the door ajar signal. If the control unit doesn't see the door open it won't sound the chime. If the dome lite doesn't come on check the door jam switch. Its more than likely your problem

That's exactly the problem on my mother-in-law's Civic Hybrid. The driver's door pin switch is jammed in the open position so the car never recognizes the door as being opened. I'm not sure how it happened, maybe she closed her door on her seatbelt or caught the switch with her purse or something.

Thanks for the replies - It turned out the door senor switch had popped out. I had to fish a little for the wire but I finally snagged it. Thanks again for pointing me in the right direction.
