please recommend all-season tires (2003 17")

i have the 2003 sedan with sport package, tires that came on it were the bridgestone potenza (crappy in rain, imo).

time to get a new set...

the original size is 215/55R17...

could anyone recommend the best tire for all season performance (dry and wet conditions, no snow tires needed)? the best blend of performance, comfort, and noise...

also, does anyone know if i could change to 235/50R17 and use these with the existing wheel/rims?

i've heard good things about the toyo proxes 4, falken ziex ze-502, and avon tech m550 a/s...any experiences with these tires?

any help would be appreciated!

I'm in the same boat as you. Any luck so far? Could use the advice!

i JUST bought new All seasons, and I got the Avon Tech M550 A/S, for my 2004 sedan, 17" stock rims. I have to say...they are AWESOME. that's it. they beat any other all season tire i've had, hands down. the stock g35 tires are 215/55R17, but when you buy new tires, get wider tires, most ideally 235/50R17...it makes a great difference, and the tires will fit, since the g35 rim is almost 7.5" wide, even though they say it's only 7". I have a buddy who put on 245/50R17's and they look great.
