My 76' Firebird Esprit has the original 455 in it with no mods. I was wondering if anyone knew the HP & Tq. of this model or knows a website that tells the details of this engine...

If the engine wasn't changed any from 74', when they changed to the Super Duty 455 & dropepd the HP to 290, then it is the same engine & HP rating in the 76' model right???

according to your info, your Vin starts with 2T87W6.....
assuming your engine would be all original, engine identification code must be WX and would designate a 455 manual block. In other words in 1976 a 455 was only available in a Trans Am with a manual transmission, and it was rated at 200hp.A 455 was not available in a Esprit model.
You might want to check for your engine code, to be found on the front passenger side of the block, stamped just below the head, two letters are designating the type of block. And just to make sure that you really have a 455 check the stamping or embossed numbers on the left side of the block, below the headers/exhaust manifold, behind the fuel pump.
let me know what you found and I can tell you more.
