95 Suburban abs question?

95 GMC Suburban 5.7L/2wd/AT/4 whl abs. Abs lite comes on/tested found code 68 (pump motor) If I tap on the motor with a plastic mallet it will be ok for a few days than lite will come back on again(same code). The motor is mounted to the valve control assy by 2 bolts. My question is can I remove this motor and repair it or will brake brake fluid pour out all over the place? If not I will just disconnect the thing and be done with it. Don't use it when towing anyway as it increases the stopping distance to much. 33 year Ford Tech here.
