what do u think about a LS1 swap in a 89 camaro taking out v6 motor

You'll also need the transmission and rear-end. The v6 rear-ends are glass-jaws. Even the LS1 rear-end snaps easily (snapped one in my 93 TA pretty easily).
Figure you'll spend $4-5k on all the parts then at least $1500. For $6500 + whatever your car is worth you could get an 01 Z28 and have a newer nicer car in the process, not just a faster one.
Don't do it unless your motor is blown and you have an LS1 you can get really, really cheap and you can do it yourself.
