Hi:
Unless I overlooked something, please help to provide more info.
what engine/ trans does the Firebird currently have?
As for the Olds 455- I will assume it has a th400 behind it (if I'm wrong, please advise)
As for your swap, the Olds and trans will bolt in, but it is possible you may need different motor mounts, and a different crossmember, and a different driveshaft all depending on what is in the car currently.
Buicks, Olds, and Pontiacs have what's known as a "BOP" bolt pattern. It is different form the chevrolets. This is why many of these parts will interchange.
But if you have a th350 trans in the firebird now, it is a different size transmission than the th400 and this is why the crossmember will need changing ,as well as the driveshaft. However, all of these parts should be readily available at a local junkyard, or on ebay.
Much of the wiring, etc should easily adapt.
I hope this is helpful.
