Iwata Eclipse CS

Finally! I received my airbrush today. But one thing that make me wonder a bit after I read the instruction of cleanning the airbrush after each used.

I have a Paasche VL, after I used it everytime, I have to dessemble all the parts apart, whatever parts that can be taken apart are all being dessembled for cleanning.

However, after I read the instruction of cleanning for the Eclipse CS, all I need to do is just pull out the needle and wipe it, and put it back? Is that all? What about the nozzle, needle caps and all?

I have heard that the Eclipse it easy to clean, but never expect it is "that" easy?

Sorry if I am being too naive. Just wanna know if that is all your do for the cleanning part for all the Eclipse owners.

Also, I have bought some lubricate along for the Iwata airbrush too, do you guys do use those on your airbrush as well?

The Iwata Revolution is very easy to clean, I do pretty much as you describe, as well as unscrewing the cap and cleaning off any excess paint around the nozzle. That and running a few cupfuls of thinner thorugh usually does the trick, it also helps to place your finger over the end to blow air back into the cup and release any paint caught in there.

Yeah I use lubricant, mostly on the air valve that can get sticky.

All I do for my Eclipse is Wipe the needle with Lacquer thinner and stick a towel in the nozzle with some lacquer thinner to take out all the paint in it. Its a great Airbrush:)

The only time I go further cleaning my Iwata is when I've sprayed a pearl or metallic before switching to a solid to make sure I don't find any sparkly bits in the finish. Otherwise, it's a breeze to clean.

I have an Eclipse CS. My cleaning process is removing the cap and the cleaning the nozzle with a q-tip soaking in lacquer thinner. Removing the needle, wipe with the q-tip. For the cup, I do the blowback method that Phil described, wipe the cup with the q-tip, and shoot a cup of thinner.
