a quick run...then something funny

well today i finally got a break from the rain ( if you live in southern california you'd know...) it was sunny for about a good 3 hours...so i decided to go drivin around for a while. i only ended up with one race. after about 10 minutes i get a red light. this 00+ dark blue celica gt..other than the trusty fart can...didnt look modded. pulls up next to me. i look over its an older late 20s early 30s hispanic male with his g/f or sumthin. didnt seem like the type to race. so i sat there starin straight ahead. not 10 seconds later. i hear he starts revvin'. heres the convo:

Him: eyy you!!
Me: ?yes?
Him: that sh*t aint fast homie, don't act like your mr racer
Me: *confused* and im doing what wrong now?
Him: ill smoke you biotch...*revs up the little 1.8*
Me: *thinking ok...yeah he has problems* *pop in neutral revvin back*
Him: ooh, c'mon right now essay!

i didnt wana chance anything i just floored it...got a good jump on him about 1/2 car...pulled to about 3/4 of a car at 50...shut down at 65...he slowed down too. and i returned to my cruising speed of 45...not a minute later he comes from behind flyying...

Him: yea i smoked you!!!
Me: ? ? *confused*
Him: man you need to hit your blinkers and honk twice to say you win
Me: ???even more confused
Him: man you dont know anything about the underground scene..latur

i didnt even bother sayin anything, i know i won...either his pride wont let him admit it...or hes just that slow...hmmm

well later on around 7 or so...it was rainin again...my friend and i made a run to jack in the box. i was waitin to get outa the parkin lot...and this total dumbass..mustve been 16...or 17 jus got his lisence. it was a blue mustang gt mid 90s...he was makin a left...and kept eyeing my car...well i guess he wanted to intimidate me or show off. cuz when he got outa the turn he floored...i guessed he forget to realize yes..it was rainin really hard...roads slick + rwd + no experiece = bad...he almost ran into a building in the process...funny...i didnt wana see him mess up his car...in any case he got a scare...karma...

Gotta tell people like that that no matter what rules they come up with, blinkers and horns don't make their car any faster.

Do you think people that believe in the whole hazards signal a real win actually believe in their mind that they are faster? That would be like knocking out Tyson while he was having an epileptic (sp?) seizure, and thinking to yourself you really beat him. Everyone thinks they know "the scene" nowadays.

I used that example the other day. Really, just the other week their was a discussion like that on a tvshow.
It was about the casualties in illegal streetracing in belgium. They devided the group of streetracers like this.

First there were the groups that called on the last minute to eachother and then decided te spot etc.
and then you had the "tuners".

The funniest thing was that only the first group actually raced against eachother and the second one not (from what the people in the discussion came up with). The second one is only trying to tune their car with the intention to make it look good.

I was like wtf.
This was all about TFTF in my opinion. All about ricers who meet somewhere and ricers who actually admit that they do it not to look fast or be fast but to look GOOD. I was laughing for about a whole day after that show.

But on the other hand it's really sad that the most part of the people in general tend to see it that way.

Oh yeah in terms of casualties: Onl 2 people dyed last year of racing and all the others (they're with many here) were other traffic accidents.

So this was just some major BS story they spread out to the people to even hate more the racers, so also to hate the ones who really love cars like us :rolleyes:

Unless you did something to provoke him. And "you didn't honk or flash your blinkers"...more FNF. Vatos in SoCal don't say shit like that, they're more likely to give you the finger and drive away...or shoot at you with their 9mm and drive away.

Also the part about "I didn't want to take any chances so I just floored it" - even with the little sunshine we got yesterday the roads were too wet to "floor it", you woulda just spun your tires.

depends where you live...i dont exactly live in the best of neighborhoods...if you look at someone the wrong way...some people will take it like a diss or something etc etc...and the roads werent THAT wet... or else i wouldnt have even bothered... :biggrin:
