94 rodeo wont start

am having a very annoying problem with a 1994 rodeo. It tried to die at an intersection, I barely made it home. Then since it will not start and occasionally backfires. It did start one time but ran very rough, and died after a little while. Also it seemed like it was getting to much gas, or not burning what was supplied but pressure and injectors seem fine. I also was thinking about changing the crank position sensor as mechanically i have tried everyhting and had all systems checked by mechanic. I was wondering if this sensor was the problem. I did what autozone recommended and checked the resistance where it connects to the ignition coils and it was 860 ohms. They say it should be between 900-1200, since this is such a small difference i dont know.
'Any help would be greatly appreciated
Also if you have already replaced your sensor, did it work.

Note it is a 3.2l auto 4x4.
Thank You
