running light problems! please help!!!!

I drive a 95 Nissan Pickup 4WD with the 2.4 engine and 5 speed.
So, when I turn on my lights the rear running lights do not turn on. However, when I hit my brakes the rear brake lights do turn on. I have already replaced the bulbs and fuses. Please help!

Do your dash lights come on. The reason I ask is that the tail lights(running lights) and the dash lights are on the same switch which is located in the steering column.

The dash light does not work either. Also, I had a wiring harness to tow a trailer installed. I am not sure if that is having any effect on blowing out the fuse.

I'd check the harness first for bare wires etc. But chances are it's the switch in the column. I'd let a shop do it. It's kind of tricky getting to it.

With the lights on when you hit your brakes soes just the brake light light or do the running lights also turn on? If the running turn on then you heed to check for a bad ground.
