Car dies

Hello, I have a 1991 Camaro Z28, it has new plugs new wires , new distributor. On a good day runs great, I can drive to work park in sun in summer, come out may start and die several times before running. I can pull up to a red light it dies. When I have it in the garage where it is cooler it starts. I would appreciate any advice that could help me fix it instead of being afraid to drive it and having to walk.

find your OBD port, jump the top two pins farthest to the passenger side together.. and turn your ignition on (dont start the car) your codes will be relayed via the engine light....it will flash a number of times

So when I do this I just post the number of times my ignition light flashes? That is the code?

Kind of...It will start with a code 12. one flash, pause and 2 quick flashes, it will do this 3 times then it will report any other stored codes. When it flashes code 12 again that means that it is done with the stored codes.
