I'm so happy, today, after reading up on some intake issues, i ordered a rai for my 91. Until that came in, though, i decided to remove the resonator on my intake. So i removed the battery and the intake box and then worked on bolts and battery tray. Next i peeled away wheel well and removed the big ol' resonator. Only question is, whats the little button looking thing with the vacuum hose and the hook? Does that control air flow through the accelerator cable or somethin? the tube goes to the intake manifold. Anyways, I put intake box back in and cut off some tubing to make it an easier fit (now pipes are pointing all the way away from engine. I put battery back in and started up engine. Upon some light reving i could hear the difference, its almost got a small growl to it now ^^(no exhaust tip :( ). Thanks for your posts guys, everybody should try this as it sounds neat and frees up some space.

he took out the resonator in his car. I took mine out too a while ago and it screams when the secondaries open up in the IM. I threw it back on there though when I took it to the dealer for some warranty work. didn't want them to give me some fucked up excuse as to why removing the resonator is going to void my warranty.
