I was wondering why on my 2001 Intrigue the airbag light comes on and stays on...is it going to go off, or is the airbag light just like the check engine soon light......does the airbag need some attention now too...

Help me...what is up with the light???

This is what the Owners Manual has to say:

Air Bag Readiness LightThere is an air bag readiness light on the instrumentpanel, which shows the air bag symbol. The systemchecks the air bag’s electrical system for malfunctions. The light tells you if there is an electrical problem. Thesystem check includes the air bag modules, the wiringand the crash sensing and diagnostic module. For moreinformation on the air bag system, see “Air Bag” inthe Index. This light will come onwhen you start your engine, and it will flash for a fewseconds. Then the lightshould go out. This meansthe system is ready. If the air bag readiness light stays on after you start theengine or comes on when you are driving, your air bagsystem may not work properly. Have your vehicleserviced right away. The air bag readiness light should flash for a fewseconds when you turn the ignition key to ON. If thelight doesn’t come on then, have it fixed so it will beready to warn you if there is a problem. So it sounds like it's some sort of an electrical problem.
