95 Taurus abs light on

Hello,
my 95 ford taurus ABS light comes on in some time from start up.
How long can I wait till I service it? How much could it cost?
Besides, there is a slurping sound from behind the dash board that I have been hearing for a while. I had the mechanic loop at it when it started but he didn't hear it then since it wasn't there always in the beginning. What is this slurping sound and could it be related to the ABS?
