cav wont start/.

my dad just got a cavalier...im not sure what year it is but its a coupe and its not the newest body style but the one right before that....he just replaced the speakers in it yesterday and today he went to start it up and nothing....also the dome light wont go off....is there a problem with the wiring? or....did the dome light just not cut off and his battery died...it was raining last night too...maybe water in the ditributor?....anything helps...any start up problems with cavs///thnx

I would check the distributor if its wet then blow it dry with compressor and use WD40 inside to eliminate the water, and try jumping it b/c leaving the dome light on will kill ur battery. Also check and see if the dome light turns off when u adjust the brightness of the insrtument panel. And if it doesnt go out take the bulb out.
