I never attempted that so I will leave it to some of our more familiar members to explain but just wanted to welcome you to the forum.

I don't have any valuable input what so ever on this topic...I was just wondering what a STOCK 572 BBC entitles, I can't imagine anythign "stock" about this engine......since to my knowledge, it was never put in any production engine, the bigest one made was the 454, I know the 572 is a crate engine but...........................................

Its definately been done before by more than a few people! I think one of the biggest problems comes from the exhaust system and the steering components. Check out the forums at www.thirdgen.org and do a search there, since I dont know of anyone around here that has done this.

i thought that someone on here had, or was planning, on doing this. i want to say they were about to wedge a big block into a third gen, but the years of drinking have clouded my once accredited memory.

it was actually a marine engine, a buddy of mine had it in his 42 foot racing boat along with 2 other ones. He crashed the boat and sold the powerplants, i could only afford one of 'em. i havent had it converted yet to put in a car, so there's still some adjustments to make with the cooling system and flywheel. i was also wondering if i'd need to add anything to it, (ie. more power) or would it already be too much.

Which "stock" 572? GM made /makes a few with different flavors of HP.
The weak unibody will not be able to handle a BB's power, you need subframe connectors at the least. The biggest clearance problem you should have is with the LH valve cover hitting the wiper motor housing on the firewall. Then there is the cooling. You'll need to get the biggest and best radiator for it that you can find, that beast will be hot and retain heat because it has very little room around it in the engine compartment.
