MAP sensor should be located on the throttle body and depending on what make model and year teg you have the wire colors will be different... if you disconnect the MAP sensor you can check for voltage going to the sensor, you need the ignition key ON but engine not running and check for the voltage between the power and the ground on the harness side of the connector, you should get a reading of around 5 volts... to get further readings you'll need to remove the sensor and reconnect it to the wiring harness, you'll then need to back probe the connector at the signal wire and ground wire (again with Key ON but engine OFF), then slowly apply vacuum to the sensor and as you do that the voltage readings should drop, generally for every 5 inches of vacuum your readings should drop about .5 volts, at 0 inches vacuum you should have around 3V from the signal wire... now if you don't have the original reading of 5 volts or at least near that readingyou'll need to check for any loose wiring in the power or ground wires or any breaks in the wires or any bad connections... if you do recieve the 5 volts but don't get the voltage drops as you apply vacuum to the sensor then in all probability the sensor is bad and you'll need to replace it.
