This is a copy of the list ...... pls make comments in this thread as to what you think about this list, things me missed, etc ... We can use this format or change it up to something a little different, whatever makes it more usable.

I will make the changes and put it in a sticky, then lock it .... so all can read but the file won't be so large with all the additional posts.

no arguments here

not sure if there are any companies missing from the list or not, I have a reasonable sized list of companies on my site here (http://www.resnet.trinity.edu/areynol1/audiolinks.htm). They aren't ranked or anything, but you might be able to see if your list is missing anything.

BOLD means that this is a brand we talk good of frequently on this board and is within most people's price range. A lot of these products will be recommended.

i think im leaning toward this list^^ because i liek the bold companies rather than all the stars.. the stars are a little too much flash in my opinion.

diceman.. edit your post and chance the spelling of awesome next to profile amps..

Works for me.....when i made that list I left out stuff most people will never hear of but i can ad if you want all brands on there.

It's in my sig on a site I put up.

I formatted all the text and alphabetized it all. The way it's setup is so you don't have to look at all the brands at once, just in the sections you want to look at. Eliminates scrolling.

AndonD454
02-21-2005, 01:34 AM
yeah.. but dude its like 2 seconds worth of scrolling.. come on how lazy do we have to be haha.. and i think this way would be more informative because a noob will see all brands at once and know where they lie on the list.. rather than only clicking on highly recommended and still saying.. hey is sony good?

besides is seems easier just to post it.. no links.. no 3rd party sites that might not always be there.. etc

It's my site, my hosting through my cable ISP. It will always be there and ensure longevity. Besides, it was just a solution until Paul stickied a thread for this.

Didn't cross reference all of them, but here is a link that might include some other brands. How do you all feel about this list?

There it is :)

JVC Digifine is rated so highly for its incredible build quality and numbers. The regular JVC is a good bang for the buck, but I've found the Digifine line to be exceptional.

Bump to keep it active...

Are we happy with it now? I added a few missing things, and put "JVC (Digifine line)" in the good section.

Who's the crackhead that has the little "(borderline good/highly recommended)" next to focal...are you stupid. They make some of the best SQ speakers and woofers in the world...

ok... no need to call names... I know nothing, I'm just doing what you guys say... I'll scrap the Digifine crap, and erase the (boardline...) from Focal.

I 2nd the Digifine from JVC or well at least the KDSH99. I've had this piece since it was first released and loved every minute of it. It has so many parameters that you can adjust for the sound you need. It really is a rock solid head unit. It is definately better than most of the Eclipse units I sell for 2 to 3x's the money.

That was me crackwhore......just cuz of what sr20 said..... I had heard from a fair amount of problems out of the lower lines.

This is true, I guess they should be noted as such...but High End Focal is great! peace

Focal midranges do not have good midbass response, a midbass driver is pretty much a requirement. I have had a set of focal polykevlars for quite a while now - maybe 8 years.

so do we want to sticky this and lock it? I can email/IM the code I used to make my formatting if you'd like, PaulD. Or I can just post a new thread with it. Just let me know!
