Wiring, Front Washer Relay, or Washer Pump itself.

My '99 XLT is doing the same thing. If the washer is relayed, then the fuse would only operate the relay, correct? If I'm correct, then I/we should stop there. The fuse I'm popping is in the dash, not under the hood, and it is a 7.5A fuse.

so you think it may be the relay?

The problem should be either there or somewhere in between the relay and the switches. The point for setting a relay in the circuit is to isolate the switch from the load and also to provide multiple points of access to one unit. I found where the relay was located. It is in a box mounted to some fender tabs on the right side of the vehicle under the airbox and mass airflow sensor. My Explorer was mashed on that side and may be why mine is blowing. I didn't get inside the box, nor do I know how yet - my owner's manual doesn't make reference to it and time did not allow me to start into that task, but I'll keep you posted when I dig it out. The box mount tabs were broken, and when I rebuilt the car, I wrapped the box with electrical tape :nono: instead of replacing it (which I probably should have done) and zip-strapped it to the mount tabs. It'll be fun getting it back out!

That's great, Dave. Did yours fail at any particular time? Mine seems to blow when it's cold to freezing. That's one reason why I haven't worked on mine yet! Maybe next weekend.
