A/C problem

On my 1996 Dodge Caravan (225,000 km), the air conditioning gets very cold on the passenger side but a lot less on the driver's side. So when it's hot in the summer, a problem arises : I wan't to turn it up but my wife, of course, doesn't approve... :banghead:
Anybody has that problem or has an idea how to fix it?
