Ok this is gonna probably be a silly question but; are A4 very expensive to maintain. I mean on the same level of expense as BMW and the like? I'm look at an A4 among some other cars (240se, Subaru Impreza) to be my next car. Are they temperamentally at all like the Passats? If you were gonna do it again would you still had bought the car knowing what you do now? Please give honest opinions guys. Thanks

after having bought my audi I don't believe that I would ever get another kind of car. They are more expensive to get fixed then domestic's but that is mainly due to the labor rate that shops are allowed to charge you. If you do the work your self it is reasonablely priced to fix, and dam satisfying too. Every car will have its own problems depending on how the previous owner kept the car. Just make sure that certian jobs have been done before you buy( timing belt, V-belt, tires, tune-up, tie-rod arms) mainly only because these jobs are pricey and you really can't do up grades for this kinds of things. Things such as the breaks, shocks and struts, springs, etc. are things that if you want to upgrade your car your going to have to replace anyway.

Becuse of this car i am devoted to audi the rest of my life. You cant really beat the way they ride with the quatro. When I first got it alot of things were wrong with it but with some money and time it came together. But all in all I would defantly buy this car again.

Between the 3 german luxury makers (Audi, BMW, Mercedes), Audi is by far the best made. It has the best of both worlds. It is sporty like a BMW 3 series, yet comfortable like a Mercedes C class.

The BMW 3 is sporty, but not luxurious.
The Mercedes C is luxurious, but not sporty.
The Audi A4 is both luxurious AND sporty.

Audi rarley gets the credit it deserves. When they have comparisons of luxury cars,(not including Audi, BMW, or Mercedes), they say somthing like "rides like a Mercedes" or "handles like a BMW". Never mention Audi.

Audi is supirior in almost all ways (build quality, maintenence, options, etc.). to BMW or Mercedes. What I would like to see is a comparison of the:

Audi A4 vs. Infiniti G35 Sedan
BMW 325i vs. Acura TL
Mercedes C240 vs. Lexus IS300

ANYWAYS, Audi is better.

actually car and driver compaired the a4, 325i, TL and Is300 in their ultimate comparisions issue 2004. if you are wondering the a4 3.0 took 5th, is300 4th, TL 3rd, 325i 2nd, and the g35 actually came up ontop. with saab and jag bringing up the rear, ten in all. they also did esuv's and $100,00 and up cars and all sorts of stuff, if you are really intrested you could probly check it out on their site.
