ok i have been looking for a 88-91 civic but i cant get an si.
i wanted to buy a civic and drop a b16 in it by now i relize its out of my reach and i dont have enough money for that sought of work. now i can only find the stock civics with the 92 hp engine. most likely i will end up getting that one but with inly SOHC and 1.5 @ 92 hp how can i modifie and get power out of that?

what i need to know will this engine be sutable for modifing? how can i get power out of this engine without swapping it?

so the question is what should i do? how much $$ and how much power will it ad to the stock 92 hp engine?

You can always buy the 1.5l 92 horse civic than just upgrade to a 1.6l 108 horse motor (the d16a6). It's a lot better to modify and get power out of. You can usually find the motors pretty cheap.

the best mod you can do is either a ls or b16 swap

You can always just do the standard mods - intake, header, exhaust, port & polish, new cam and cam gear. I'd personally do a mpfi swap on the 1.5l. Lightened flywheel and pulleys. If you do the mpfi swap you could do a small turbo and run like 5-6 pounds of boost. Those are the majority of the things I can think of.
