Installing a Spoiler

I am getting an OEM SI spoiler shipped in the mail all painted and everything to match my car. Can I install it myself easily by just drilling and screwing? and do I need new trunk springs to hold the extra weight of the spoiler?

If you are careful with drilling and marking the holes I believe you'd be able to do it yourself ... It's not hard at all you just need to make sure all holes are marked correctly and aligned properly before you drill ... You shouldn't need trunk springs ...

you don't need new trunk springs, its just that now when you pop your trunk it won't pop open by itself it'll just sit there and you gotta lift it. but installing it is really easy just make sure you get it even and use a punch and punch in the holes for it.the wing should come with the install kit, its like 2 pieces of plastic that sticks to your wing before you install it and you put it on the wing and place the wing on the trunk and when you lift the wing off to drill the holes, the two plastic strips should stay on the trunk so you have a perfect template to drill the holes.

If you get a complete kit, you will have the instructions and template to use for drilling holes in the right place. (You will need a template!)
Taking note that you have the same car as I do, you may need to adjust the stock trunk tension bars. (These are what open the trunk... not a "spring")

Anyway, it's pretty easy... Just make sure that it's painted to match your car when you install it.
