2000 Install Fender

I want to remove my driver side fender and replace it. It looks like I can leave the hood and battery in place and work from the outside. How do I remove the trim that continues below the door? The plastic fasteners have a square hole. How do I remove the plastic pins at the back of the fender well? It looks like I need to remove the plastic grill at the base of the windshield to get at the top rear bolt that is shared by the hood hinge. Any tips will help.
