Someone emailed me and suggest I post this here also. The original post is in Street Racing Forum.
Hello all, New to the board and new to racing. Just got back from Iraq and the whole time I was over there, this buddy of mine would not stop talking about his GT Mustang... I mean we would be taking fire, shit would be blowing up all around us and still he would not shut up about his "Stang" as he called it. This friend of mine ended up paying the ultimate price, but I never forgot about his stang. When I got back to the land of the Big P/X the first thing I did besides kiss my wife and young son was buy me a completely stock 1993 Ford Mustang GT 5 Speed. I had heard so much about this car from my friend that I had to have one. This car has only 89K miles on it and still has the air silencer in place. After buying the car for only $3800 which I think was a steal, I had all the fluids changed the plug wires and cap replaced the fuel injectors cleaned and replaced the filter.
As I was driving home from the mechanic. I stopped at a light and I was waiting for it to change. A newer model Honda Civic SI pulls up next to me and looks over. I had my windows down as it was a cool day here in South Florida. The driver of the Civic SI yells over to me and asks if the car was stock and how nice it looked after a bit of chit chat he asks you want to run... I said what the hell lets see what this Stang can do. The light changes to green I pop the clutch and take off tires spinning like crazy, the Civic is about a half a car length behind when I try and shift to second and miss it altogether, the car makes a god awful sound then I see the civic pull ahead of me. I find second, and then third and fourth with no problems. The Civic is left looking at my tail lights. By the time I back off in fourth gear at the next light I have him beat by at least two car lengths. We stop at the next light chit chat some more and the civic driver said good race and invited me to race again Saturday night at this gathering of other street racers.
But that is for another post... God I love this Stang, Thank you Sgt. Thomas Grahm USMC.
YOU ARE TRULY MISSED MY FRIEND!!!!

Ah sorry for the loss of your friend.
Glad your enjoying your stang.
They will average about high 14's~low 15's second in the quarter mile. You might want to make your first mod gears and exhaust, then you will really have alot of fun.

I don't see the harm in it. I don't own a mustang, but I enjoyed reading it.

Well, this time was fine because it was like his introduction. But I don't think it'd be very good to duplicate every thread into this forum also.

Welcome to the forum 1993 gt hopefully you can learn from your loss and take the racing off the street and onto the track. While street racing can be fun it can also be deadly and not just for you but for others as well.MARS is right some of us dont hang out in the street race forum.I dont because i have a problem with people who speed in residentials and on the highway too. To avoid the arguement i stay away from that side of the forum. Not saying i havent dropped the hammer down on sombody before but just cause your cars fast doesnt mean risk the life of the innosent to prove what>

That is a very extreme example. I don't know why he chose to post this twice, but I don't think that anyone is suffering as a result.

I posted twice because someone from the Street Racing forum emailed me and suggested I post it in the Mustang forum, He thought my fellow stang owners would enjoy reading it as well..
I am new and did not relize I should not post things twice. I will not in the future repost in a different forum.

I am new...
Welcome to the forum.
I remember when I first started posting, I would all sorts of mistakes and all sorts of hell would be raised.
Don't worry, it was more of a "Yippee, I love my car!" post than a Street Racing post.
"Yippee, I love my car!" posts are always welcome in this forum.

nice kill man
i remember my first kill... first day i had my car, it was a 100% stock 5.0 automatic with the mufflers removed, so it was LOUD. i was waiting at a light when a turbo Saab pulled up next to me. when the light turned green he floored it (it was a stick) and barked the tires. it suprised me, but i mashed the pedal and went flying past him. at the next light we raced again with the same result... then he turned off and flashed his lights at me. that was a lot of fun =D
now i've converted it to stick and done a bunch of speed mods, so i can't wait for winter to end so i can hit the track and improve on my stock 15.3 1/4.
