Been looking at buying a used Cherokee. Found a 94 w/ 150k but no compression in one of the cylinders (4.0). Otherwise it is in pretty good shape (soccer mom SUV)---and still runs fairly well on 5. I could afford to drop another motor or rebuild this one but....is it really worth it to?
I have a love/hate relationship with Jeeps and maybe just have cold feet.

drop half oz of oil in the cylinder and see if the compresion comes up, if it doesn't it is most likely only a burnt valve, had this happen to a ford ranger of mine, 2 cylinders at 25 psi, had heads done and it was like new.
