Rattle noise from steering column

Please help. 1998 Lumina. Car makes rattling noise at start up. Noise appears to be coming from within the steering column...definitely not drivetrain related. Thanks

I have figured out that it is the ABS solenoid activating at start up. Thanks for looking. Which explains why the noise wasn't coming from the starter. Apparently this is common with GM vehicles. Thanks to the people who viewed my question.

I couldn't think of a damn thing useful to say to this. I'm glad you figured it out, that's a new one on me, but makes sense.

That's the problem with trying to help online, you can't hear/see the problem.

If I heard that in my own car, I'd know exactly what it was. The ABS activation "chatter" is pretty distinctive. But trying to think through it, I was coming up blank.
