Hi all,
I realised there was no forum for convretibles, so positing my concern here.
As the subject says, My Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder convertible top leaks and lets water in when it rains. The leak is usually on both the sides where the window meets the top(I need to mention that I close the window tightly). My guess is that the water is leaking thru the stiches on the canvas top. I was just wondering if anyone else on this forum who has a convertible used any kind of gel/paste/leakproof liquid that I can apply on the stiches so the water doesn't get in..
Any replies/suggestions greatly appreciated..
Thanks

I remember awhile back one of the guys said that they used some 3M Scotchguard and it worked really well. I don't remember who it was. Just do a search for Scotchguard or leaking top and you should be able to find it.
By the way, I think everyone on here with a Spyder has had the leaky top problem. Some of the guys have had all of the weatherstripping replaced, used Scotchguard, etc. I just bought a beater and don't drive the Spyder in the winter/rain :p

That was I that wrote about the scotchguard... Use the heavy duty kind for high traffic areas....
It worked GREAT for my top.
Use it heavily and let it dry.... do it again and all should be fixed. Good luck
spyderturbo007 sorry to hear about your dog skip!!!!!!!!!LMFAO
