Replacing Brake pads 95 Gran Prix SE

Hello All,

I have a problem replacing my brake pads. I've done this before but not on this car.
The problem is I can't get the piston to go back in after removing the old pads. I've tried different "C" clamps and it just will not go.

I've removed the cap to the master cylinder I'm at a loss! HELP!!

It has ABS if that matters. :D

The pistons may have to be rotated while presure is applied with your c-clamp.

I would put the cap back on first - brake fluid is nasty on paint !!

Chazman, Thanks you!!! Actually don't need to apply pressure at all they just kinda screw in. It's hard going at first but then eases.
Never seen that before guess thats why I'm not a mechanic. LOL!

acutally. if you want to make it easy. you loosen the bleeder valve. and then try and compress the piston. i know the mine have dual piston on the front end. and single piston calipers on the back. you are not supposed to get dirt in the abs system and that is why you loosen the bleeders and then compress the pistons. if they are hard to compress with the bleeder open. then you have a case of caliper seizing and are in need of replacement.

ya go with the twisting i just did two diffrent GPs and they r hard at first but with a little pressure and a little twisting it should go in
