I have a 90 Accord EX....in July of this year I had new belts put on. I have noticed since the weather got colder that when I start the car up the belts squeel for about a min or two and after I have been driving if I turn onthe headlights the belts have a very short period time of squealing...
I have look at the belts and they do nto seem to be loose. Has anyone ran into the problem?? What else can I check....
Thanks

They may not seem loose but if they squeal than they are. The only option is to tighten them. They tend to stretch over a period of time thats why they squeal now and not when they were first put on.

If it stops sooner with the lights on, it is probably the alternator belt. It may just be loose, glazed or worn, or it's possible the alternator is out of alignment with the other pulleys that belt runs over. You can usually see the tip-in, if that's the case. Don't know if there are any bushings on your alternator mounts, Chrysler products had a bad time with this in the 80's-90's cars. The bushing would disintegrate and the alternator would lean in under belt tension, making the belt sqeal like mad.
