Explorer dies

I have a '93 Ford Explorer witha 4.0. The engine will quit when driving. The rest of the electrical, lights, radio etc will stay on. After a few minutes, the engine will restart. The is intermitent, but is increasing.

My Dad has a 94 Aerostar that was doing this also. Turned out the distributor was warn and would stop sending the signal to the ignition module and computer when heated up such as a hill pull or really hot day.

This was fun to diagnose...
