Service Body Systems ('98+ owners)

I used the search and couldn't find the answer to this.

My question is, when the ignition key is first turned to On, should the Service Body Systems light illuminate like all of the rest of the warning lights?

On my '98 Blazer, I can see the words written in the instrument overlay, and it does have an LED in place. I've never seen this light come on. I'm just curious if I should be seeing it as a 'bulb check' like most other warning lights.

I do know that due to manufactures using the same clusters in various types of vehicles/series, not all of those 'features' will work and apply to every vehicle. I also see the Service 4x4 light written in the overlay, but I'm aware that it doesn't work on the standard 3-button 4x4 system, only the automatic system.

Another question on my '98 Blazer, does the Tailgate Ajar light supposed to work as well? There has been times when I've had the glass and tailgate both open, and the tailgate ajar (latched, but not fully latched), and I've never seen this warning lamp on either.

I'm just curious, mainly because my Blazer has had a history of having numerous electrical issues. I don't have an owners manual to help verify those warning lamps.

Everything else works fine, to my knowledge.

Thanks.

You can see copy of owner's manual by registering your Blazer on http://www.gm.com. Click Owner Center and then register.

Thank-you. I was aware of that feature a few months ago, but I totally forgot about it.

After reviewing the manual, it appears the Service Body Systems does not apply to my vehicle, as its not listed in the manual.

However, the Gate Ajar should be working, according to the manual.

I thought all of the warning lamps were LED, not conventional lights. I know for sure the ABS and Service Engine soon lamps are LEDs.

Thanks. I'll have to track down why the Gate Ajar light isn't working at all.

Here's the wiring for the Gate Ajar:
