I only want to know what the front speaker size is because I believe the rears are 6x9's right? I am looking into getting a better set of speakers front and rear so I am open to suggestions. Thanks guys for any responses.

which year?

pre-92 had 3.5" and 92 and later had 5.25" I think in the doors with some models having seperate tweeters.

1988 eighty eight royale brougham sorry I forgot to mention this. So this would mean I have the 3.5 in the doors? I'm not sure there are any tweeters unless they are in the doors behind the speaker cover. What would be a reasonable speaker to put in place of the stock speakers? A good brand that can handle some power. I am going to be using a punch 400.4 to power these and my 6x9's. Thanks.

on the older cars they JUST had 3.5" full range speakers in the dash unless you had the optional bose premium package.

okay so I checked and i noticed that i have a small speaker in the dash. I'm guessing this is my 3.5 inch speaker. I know there is a speaker in my door but am not sure what size it is. It's a 1988 eighty eight model royale brougham. Thanks guys.

the pre 1991 Olds 88 and pre 1990 olds 98 ie 1986-1990(1991) old body style had 3.5 in the dash under the grilles located directly next to the doors. Warning here as well there is little to no clearence when the grilles are on, make sure you buy flush mount speaker if you intend to use them. You will need funny * shaped screw driver to remove the grille covering them. They will change in about 10 minutes a piece. The door speakers were an option on the vehicles either in the bose system or concert series. The door speaker were 6.5. The rear speakers were 6x9. Found this info at future shop when i bought the deck they had a catalogue that had info on all makes and models pretty cool!

My '89 98 has the concert series system which seems to be an upgrade that just includes some extra speakers. The head deck was the same as all the others i have seen and the stock speakers work okay for now with my Panasonic head unit. Would like to put some Pioneer 3 way 6x9 in the rear and 3 way 6.5 in the door when the $ makes itself available.

You should however be warned that the AC delco/Bose systems are a real pain in the A** to deal with as they have individual amps for each and run on funny ohmage. Do a search on the net prior to playing with those you may be getting into more than you bargained for.
