CD PLayer replacement HELP

OK this is dumb but I cant get the dash off to pull out the old one. I took off all the screws I could see, and even tried taking the plastic peice under the steering wheel. Nothing is coming out? What am I missing!

First, if you have a manual Tib, remove the knob from your shifter. It just unscrews from the shifter.

Next, remove the plastic covering the shifter (this includes the shift boot). Just pull up on it, and it should pop off. Then just pop off the black, plastic console surrounding the stereo. It should pop off too. Next, remove the four screws holding the stereo in place. Then all you have to do is pull it out and disconnect all the wiring.

BTW, you'll want to get a wiring harness adapter.

I have the 01 Tibby as well and it took me a while to figure out how to get the damn thing off. There should be a few clips on the panel, on the left side of the stereo unit that should just unsnap. On the right, theres a clip that is kinda tricky, just have to work with it. I used a small flat tip to open it up.

Oh and make sure you have the aftermarket wiring harness. Dont hardwire it like me. Nothin but issues after that.
