I have a 1990 Eagle Talon, none tubo, 5 sp. I am looking to put a factory turbo in the car. The Tsi and my coupe are both four bangers. I think that they are both 24 valves(4 per cyl.)? Can I put a stock turbo on my car? I know there is a differance in headers, but I don't think there is a differance in engines? I can get a stock turbo for cheap, through a guy I know.Help!

Get the stock turbo, turbo exaust manifold, turbo intake manifold, down pipe, etc... otherwise you will be stuck fabricating a turbo exaust manifold and running FI on an intake manifiold designed for NA power... there is also decend aftermarket on thoes...you may just wnat to look for an aftermarket intake and exaust manifold....the blocks should be the same so it will be bolt for bolt.

depending on how well kept your engine is, you will also probably need to replace the pistons and rods. ive heard a lot of people blowing up their engine putting turbos on the non turbo eclipses and talons. be careful, it may just be worthwhile to find a 1g or 2G talon or eclipse with the turbo on it and continue to mod from there.
yes there is a difference in engines, the 420A engine in the non-tuebo cars cannot hold boost for shit, the 4g63 engine can handle almost anything you throw at it with stock internals.

all 1990 DOHC Talons (turbo or non) have 4G63's. The 420A didn't come around until '95. You CAN bolt the factory turbo up to the NA 4G63 block, however, the NA 4G63 has very thin connecting rods and lacks the oil squirters that the Turbo version has. It also has higher compression. Therefore, i wouldn't run more than 6 or 7 Psi on an NA 4G63.
